I have been looking through the recent activities of a number of charities helping families with children under the age of three. So many have had to shift over the last year to addressing food poverty as a stressor impacting relationships. I find the need for food banks in our still affluent society shocking; poverty remains a major issueand the level is increasing even faster than before because of the effects of the pandemic. So, here are a few papers demonstrating the direct impact of poverty on children’s development. This is an important subject showing again how infant mental health is a political matter as much as a psychological one.
