Launch Event for the Eastern Region Hub for Virtual Schools for Children in Care and Post Looked After

Promoting the education of all children in care and post looked after.

Launch date to be confirmed.

The Virtual School works in partnership with the child or young person’s school/educational setting to ensure that they are supported to fulfil their potential at all stages of their education, and to give them the best opportunity to be successful in their adult lives. Whilst looked after children may attend different schools/settings within their home county or within other local authorities, the Virtual School monitors their attendance, attainment and achievement, and makes sure that their educational success is a top priority in their care planning.

Although not a statutory requirement, the Virtual School in Norfolk recognizes the importance of supporting our youngest children that are taken into care. The early years advisors within the Virtual School aim to get involved at the earliest opportunity, sometimes pre-birth in order to ensure that infants are given every opportunity to flourish and thrive.
