‘My Play and Discover Bag’ was developed by the Norfolk Virtual School for Looked after and previously looked after children Early Years Team. The bag and contents are for all 0-4-year olds in care and it is for the children to keep and be part of their journey of exploration and learning.
The parent/carer plays an important role in helping children learn and develop by observing and engaging in their play. The resources can support this and will promote communication, collaboration, creativity, curiosity and critical thinking.

By developing and nurturing these skills the children will be able to develop positive relationships, become confident and successful.
The relationship the children form with the parent/carer through positive play and engagement supports the development of a secure attachment.
The advisers share the bag with the parent/carers and do a follow up visit. The visit gives an opportunity to gather feedback, offer advice and identify any training needs.
