AiMH UK hosts CPD events throughout the year. We invite speakers who are experts in the fields of infancy & early years, to bring you up to date with the latest skills for working with parents and babies, and share the latest research and thinking about parents, their babies and toddlers.

AiMH UK Skills Box Session – ‘Calming Parents, Calming Babies’

Supporting Mental Health Awareness Week on the topic of Anxiety. Sarah Hodgkins, an Occupational Therapist and a trained Mindfulness Teacher who has developed the 'Baby Mindful' programme for parents and babies will share her practical tips for helping parents connect with their babies from a place of calm, particularly when things are stressful. AiMH UK London Hub Event – ‘Facilitating a psychoanalytic parent, baby and toddler group for refugee and asylum-seeking families’

A presentation and discussion about this group work which aims to enhance the attunement and attachment between the parent and their infant and toddler, with a view to strengthening their relationship, and facilitating separation and individuation, so that the toddler can manage growing independence and prepare for nursery and school.

AiMH UK Spring Workshop – ‘Facilitating Attuned Interactions: Enhancing Parental Engagement & Reflective Practice with the FAN technique’

The FAN was developed by Linda Gilkerson, who we are delighted will be joining us to share the essence of the FAN technique. The FAN approach can be used by all professionals in the system around a baby: early years workers, parent-infant practitioners, health visitors, occupational therapists, nursery nurses, psychologists, medical and nursing practitioners and social workers.

We are delighted to annouce that our founder and honorary trustee, Dilys Daws will be joining us at our Annual AGM and Awards to discuss her new book: 'Quietly Subversive: The Selected works of Dilys Daws'. Dilys will be interviewed by Alexandra de Rementeria, editor of the Journal of Child Psychotherapy, and co-writer of 'Finding Your Way With Your Baby: the emotional life of parents and babies'.
